Ainsley’s New Playhouse

This year for Ainsley’s 1st Birthday we asked people to contribute to a new Playhouse. We finally got a dry weekend and worked together to get the job done Muy Rapido (thanks Handy Manny).

Uncle Alex and Grandpa Steve started early on the deck which gave us a great head start.

Nana and Grandpa got Rogan a New Swing

One of Rogan’s birthday presents was a new swing.  He loves going out back and playing by himself this year but isn’t quite able to swing on his own.  Nana found this swing and it has become a great addition to the backyard.  Rogan has a very creative imagination so the swing is also his rocket ship, pirate ship, and a race car.  One of his favorite things to do is get the chains all twisted up and then jump on as it starts to unwind.  He gets quite a ride!  Now that Rogan is using the new swing, Ainsely has had a few turns in the bucket swing.  She is still pretty little but loves being outside and doing what big brother is doing.

Leprechaun Hunter Rogan!

It’s St. Patrick’s Day. Rogan was going to have a bunch of fun St. Patty’s Day activities at school but had to stay home due to an outbreak of RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) which could be fatal to Ainsley if Rogan brought it home with him.

Instead, Rogan and I made a Leprechaun trap yesterday.

Last night while Rogan was asleep it got tripped. He woke up this morning to find a bag of gold coins sitting underneath the trap! Apparently the Leprechaun used his magic to slip out of a small hole in the trap but his gold wouldn’t fit, so he had to leave it behind. Lucky Rogan!

Rogan was so excited. He brought them over to show Andrea. Andrea asked him, “what are the coins made out of?” Rogan answered excitedly , “A rainbow!”

Kids are so cute sometimes. Rogan will be enjoying his chocolate coins today I’m sure.

Pretty in Pink

For those of you that don’t live close enough to see it in person, here are the pictures of Cupcake’s room. We kept the brown paint and went with a really nice brown and pink fabric. Andrea made the mobile and the curtains. The final touch was some pink rose photos and the shelves with cute stuffed animals. We’re ready for you Cupcake and we think you’ll love your room.

Rogan’s Art Wall

We've dedicated a wall in our family room to the budding young artist. Andrea collects all the art projects that Rogan has created since he started daycare as well as the work he does with Nana. There's so much to choose from. This collection, which is made up of lots of Holiday pieces, is a stunning representation of our talented young man.
