We’ve found R2-D2′s Remote!

Rogan LOVES Star Wars!  His favorite character is the classic R2-D2.  He runs around the house making beeps and boops just like the real droid.  Lately he and Ryan sit together on the floor making all sorts of Lego robots and droids.  One day while Ryan was at work Rogan made a remote out of Legos by himself.  As I pushed the buttons I discovered it made R2 do all sorts of different things.  You won’t believe what it can do!

PS – Yes, Rogan’s shirt is on backwards.  Occasionally at school they have backwards day.  Rogan thinks it is hilarious that he gets to wear his clothes the wrong way and will ask if he can do it at home from time to time.  His favorite thing to do is put sweatpants with a drawstring on backwards.  Then he pretends the string is a puppy dog tail.

Meet Fogan

Christmas 2010 while making cookies and wearing my apron ‘Fogan’ appeared for the first time.  We didn’t see her again until after Ainsley was born.  Then for a couple months she made regular appearances in our home and one day on a shopping trip to Target.

Knowing this was completely developmentally appropriate for his son to explore, Ryan joined in the fun one morning and did a little dancing with Fogan.

For my birthday Rogan got me a princess tea party set.  So we had a tea party for afternoon snack with milk, graham crackers and oranges.

Nana has also strongly supported Fogan’s appearances by buying ‘her’ a sparkly skirt and princess costume and painting her fingernails.

We don’t see much of Fogan anymore but her sweet smile and impeccable manners will never be forgotten.

Washing the Cars

While Ainsley and I were inside reading book, Ryan and Rogan decided to wash the cars.  Rogan was in charge of cleaning the headlights and rinsing off the soap.  It didn’t take long for Rogan to discover the power he possessed when holding the water sprayer!

“Hmm… what could I do to make this ‘job’ more fun?”

Ainsley has a new trick, and her big brother is so proud of her. I think it’s mostly because before too long she’ll be able to play with him!

After a good nights sleep Andrea and I were talking this morning. “I feel more like a person today,” she said.
Rogan then chimes in, “I feel more like a robot.”

Duvall Fireman Pancake Breakfast

Ryan and Rogan woke up early Saturday morning, put on their fireman gear and raced out the door to get to the pancake breakfast on time.  However, Ryan and I got our dates wrong and the breakfast wasn’t until SUNDAY!  Rogan was upset but handled it okay.  Ryan took him out for pancakes at IHOP which ended up being a big success.  When they got home Rogan changed out of his gear and turned into a ‘Spy Kid’ (with the addition of some vampire teeth??).

On Sunday we ALL got ready for the journey to Duvall and had a good time.  Rogan enjoyed using the official firehouse to put out a house fire.  The first time he did it he was a little tentative and the fireman helped direct the hose.  The second time, after eating some special fireman pancakes, he was a pro and put the fire out in about 5 seconds.  There was also a fire boat and medic unit to explore.  Ainsley slept through most of the outing but Rogan enjoyed showing her around when she was awake.
