Start your day off with a Smile
After a good nights sleep Andrea and I were talking this morning. “I feel more like a person today,” she said.
Rogan then chimes in, “I feel more like a robot.”
Aren’t kids fun?
Duvall Fireman Pancake Breakfast
Ryan and Rogan woke up early Saturday morning, put on their fireman gear and raced out the door to get to the pancake breakfast on time. However, Ryan and I got our dates wrong and the breakfast wasn’t until SUNDAY! Rogan was upset but handled it okay. Ryan took him out for pancakes at IHOP which ended up being a big success. When they got home Rogan changed out of his gear and turned into a ‘Spy Kid’ (with the addition of some vampire teeth??).
On Sunday we ALL got ready for the journey to Duvall and had a good time. Rogan enjoyed using the official firehouse to put out a house fire. The first time he did it he was a little tentative and the fireman helped direct the hose. The second time, after eating some special fireman pancakes, he was a pro and put the fire out in about 5 seconds. There was also a fire boat and medic unit to explore. Ainsley slept through most of the outing but Rogan enjoyed showing her around when she was awake.
Birthday Brunch at Salty’s on Alki
I asked Andrea what she wanted for her birthday and she asked to go to brunch at Salty’s. We’ve been there before and it’s a real treat. Nana and Grandpa joined us. This was their first time.
So much good food, and we got a fantastic table with a great view.
After brunch, we had a nice walk along Alki before Rogan’s legs got too tired. So Andrea got to carry him all the way back to the car. Good way to work off the brunch calories I guess.
Singing with Mama
Ainsley and Andrea were having a little singing practice the other day. Beware, cuteness overload to follow.
Big Brother, emphasis on BIG
Rogan sharing one of his favorite toys as a baby with Ainsley. She loves the music and the colors!
I had Rogan put his legs straight out. I can’t believe how quickly the grow. Those two are going to have a lot of fun together!
So many Birthdays!
Rogan is one of the younger kids in his class with his Birthday being in August. A bunch of his classmates have spring birthdays and for that reason our weekends have been pretty full the past month!
Rogan has attended a birthday of one of his classmates every single weekend for the past 5 weeks, and with Andrea’s birthday coming up next weekend plus another party the weekend after it’ll be a solid month of weekend birthday parties.

Before Kanall’s party, Rogan got to check out the new Disney Store in Bellevue Square mall. He was pretty excited!

Ainsley has been enjoying herself too. Here she is enjoying some tummy time with her special lady bug friend.
Mother’s Day Bike Ride
This Mother’s day Rogan had a great idea of what he wanted to do with Andrea. He wanted to go on a bike ride. This may have something to do with his Easter present, but honestly I think Rogan just wanted to do something with his Mama. At one point he even said that I could stay home with Ainsley so that it was just Mama and him on the bike ride.
So with Rogan coming up with the idea it was up to me to figure out the details. We decided to take an afternoon bike ride around Redmond. We stared a Redmond Town Center and road along the path toward the Redmond Library. After the ride we’d stop for some dinner. It seemed like a great plan, and we got the perfect day to do it.

Andrea got a good work out in keeping Rogan going. For some reason he just wasn’t interested in pedaling much.
Once we arrived at a park, Rogan decided he wanted to run around a bit and get the wiggles out while I worked to get Ainsley asleep. Andrea was haveing so much fun.
We ended our bike ride with Dinner at Ruby’s. It was a super fun way to celebrate Mother’s Day and we will be doing it again plenty this summer for sure!
2-Month Checkup – SHOTS!
Ainsley went in for her 2-month checkup today. She weighed in at a healthy 10lbs. 15oz. and was 24″ long. Everything is looking good and healthy. She had to get a bunch of vaccinations today 5 needles and one oral – 6 in total. As Andrea put it on Facebook, “Ainsley had her 2 month shots this morning – 5 pokes! She seems to be doing just fine. Rogan has been singing to her whenever she gets upset. Such a sweet boy!”
Our sweet boy Rogan, rocking the hair!
Ainsley is still smiling. Even if she’s not feeling perfect, she looks perfect.
(Grand)Mother’s Delight
I don’t know how it happened. It still boggles my mind. With all the pictures we’ve taken, I somehow completely forgot to take a single picture of Andrea on Mother’s Day. Now, granted for a portion of Mother’s Day I had Ainsley, but I still have no idea how I let it happen. Rest assured, Andrea had a great day and so did her her Mother (who actually got in a few pictures).
We stared the day off with The Green Dress.
After taking lots and LOTS of pictures in the green dress, we got ready for Mother’s Day Brunch. Nana and Grandpa were coming over to spend some time with us. Andrea and Rogan had a special treat, a magical cookie tree. Finally, Nana could just go over and pick a cookie off the tree. Rogan was really excited, and it turned out great. Rogan also made Nana and Mama special cards. He wrote the letters in his name in both of them all by himself*
Andrea and Rogan presenting the Cookie Tree. This is the only picture all day with Andrea in it.
Rogan is pretty excited!
Grandpa added to the fun by sticking balloons to the ceiling using “Rogan Glue”. Grandpa tried Nana glue, Mama glue and even some Daddy glue, but Rogan glue was the only one that make them stick.
It was a great day. Rogan and I went over to our neighbors house for a bit to play some hide and seek, while Andrea got some special Mother/Daughter time with Ainsley. Then we ordered some Thai takeout and watched Despicable Me, which was very cute. Rogan loves playing the yellow worker men (I have no idea what they are actually called).
Earlier in the week there were some great moments with Nana.
Ainsley was fussy, but Nana and Rogan sang to her which calmed her right down.
Fort Picnic!
*he’s learning how to trace over letters in school. He traced over pencil, but did a fantastic job following the lines.
